The Richmond Singers have their roots in the Richmond Festival Choir which sang under the baton of the late Norris Williams from 1964-1973. In 1976 the ladies became a choir in their own right under the musical directorship of Tim Richards.

Richmond Ladies have been singing for thirty years and are now led by their conductor Miss Valerie Easton and accompanied by Mrs Eileen Carew whose husband Roy, sometimes joins them as tenor soloist.    During the last five years the ladies have been guest artistes for various Male Voice Choirs and are featured on the CD of Bucca’s four. They have organised their own yearly concerts in aid of a designated charity such as

  • Guide Dogs for Blind
  • The Sunrise Appeal
  • Scope
  • St Julia’s and the Macmillan Nurses

They have also been the ‘entertainment’ at various chapels throughout the district.  Today they are a small group of eight dedicated and enthusiastic singers with a varied repertoire that range from sacred music to popular oldies and songs from shows.
